About Cap’n Retrovania
Cap’n Retrovania is an 80s SoCal latchkey kid mutated into a nostalgic vampire dad.
He grew up skateboarding to the outdoor mall pizzeria and arcade, dumping quarters into cabinets, staging background toy battles, renting horror VHS tapes, making shot-on-video makeup-effects movies inspired by John Carl Buechler and Steve Johnson, mixing monster cereals, wearing homemade Dracula capes, and dreaming of McDonald’s Boo Buckets while blasting Castlevania, and
A Nightmare on Elm Street on the NES.
That exact energy is what powers everything here.
The Crypt Squad is the growing family of monster kids, retro gamers, horror hounds, and pizza mutants who ride with us. Together we’re building the ultimate clubhouse for everything that ruled our childhoods — and everything still left to create.
